PaperBot is a configurable, modular, open-source crawler to automatically find and efficiently annotate peer-reviewed publications. PaperBot can operate stand-alone or it can be integrated with other software platforms. PaperBot retrieves and stores bibliographic information based on a pre-set search logic from a wide range of sources including Elsevier, Wiley, Springer, PubMed, Nature and Google Scholar. PaperBot also provides a one-click option for adding articles manually. Once saved, all information becomes web accessible, allowing efficient screening of articles. The user can evaluate publications and decide on their relevance, and file the associated metadata if needed. There is also a pre-evaluate mode where if publications are pre-screened as relevant, the publication goes to an intermediate collection where it can be later reviewed in detail.
